As a leader, her initiatives are always focused on maximizing

the tourism potential of her hometown.

Under her leadership, the municipality's long-awaited sea port, circumferential road, streetlights, water system, and power plant were all built.

  • Bayanihan Housing with the help of multiple partners, for 72 families in Sitio Poocan, Tinogboc, Caluya, and for 68 displaced families in Imba, Caluya, (2014-2015) 
  • Stabilized the power supply in 11 islands of Caluya by building powerhouses with generator sets, an initiative that began in 2012 to 2017
  • Supported 472 scholars in earning their Bachelor’s Degrees through Private Institutions around the Philippines since term began in 2010

  • Entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the University of Antique to offer free tertiary education to Caluya-based college students (2010 to present)
  • Initiated insurance programs for agricultural and aquaculture farmers (2016 to present)
" Her accomplishments paved the way for further development and recognition of the locality’s potential as a tourism hub.  and by the beginning of her third term, development in her area was so widespread that the annual summer tourism highlight, the Tatusan Festival with its aptly-named tagline “Sadya Caluya,” drew in tourists from all over the country. 

As a result, Caluya was able to attract private investors who built hotels, resorts, and restaurants that remain major contributors to the municipality's economy today. 

  • During her administration she provided support for the multi-awarded Tribu Tatusan, a cultural dance group of young men and women from Caluya. With the encouragement of Vice Mayor Reyes, Tribu Tatusan represented Antique Province in the Regional Kasadyahan Cultural Contest and won back-to-back championships in 2015 and 2016 and finished first runner-up in 2017.

 A graduate of Central Philippine University-Iloilo with a degree in Information Technology, Vice Mayor Reyes is the Provincial President of the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines (VMLP) and a Member of the Board of Directors of VMLP Visayas.
